We are offering an outstanding opportunity for a Marketing Professional to lead the overall strategic plan for devising effective go-to-market and growth strategies working with global and local colleagues across a broad range of departments for overall customer and brand success. As part of our Research Marketing team the

Associate Marketing Director (f/m/d)

is responsible for an audience-centric approach to our Marketing engagement with the Researcher & Author community in Germany, applying a deep understanding of regional Researcher insights, needs and behaviours, cultural nuances and academic market conditions to our Marketing approach. Driving positive community as well as buyer perception of Wiley’s Value Proposition, products and services in the context of Projekt DEAL is crucial to underline Wiley’s commitment to be a leader in Open Research. The position owner should:

  • Understand the relevant market &
    customer segments for Wiley’s journal products and author service offers
    and be able to develop promotional strategies (both push and pull) to
    optimize customer awareness of those products and services in the
    regional market
  • Use Marketing tools and technology
    effectively (tool kits, events and conferences, advertising, direct
    mail, electronic & print ancillaries, internet, etc.), and the
    sequencing/chronology of Marketing activities within a campaign
  • Be able to develop and adapt Marketing messages that demonstrate how our products and services meet those needs
  • Show familiarity with planning,
    organizing and executing programs that generate new prospects and
    advance existing opportunities for the Editorial teams
  • Have experience in leading complex projects with multiple stakeholders

Role Requirements:

  • University degree in the Sciences, Management or Marketing and minimum 10 years work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Marketing or in scientific Publishing
  • Proven success in all related Marketing fields, preferred in the field of science
  • You are highly self-motivated, customer focused and driven to achieve goals
  • Polished communication and presentation skills, fluency in English and German essential
  • Familiarity with MS Office suite
  • Some travel is required
