JOURNALS MANAGER - MEDICINE (F/M/D)

Our Journals Team manage the publication of high-quality academic journals. In your role as Journals Manager - Medicine, you will be responsible for a portfolio of journals in medical and affiliated subjects; leading the proactive management and development of these journals, and fostering the list’s sustained growth. It is a customer facing relationship management position, working with academics and societies. This is a permanent position. You can work from Germany, Poland, France, United Kingdom, Ireland, US, China, Hong Kong, India or Singapore
YOUR TASKS
- Leading the growth, development, and smooth running of a significant list of medicine journals
- Building and sustaining great relationships with our editors and societies, as well as the global scientific research community in medicine
- Representing the company at relevant external meetings and events
- Account management and business retention
- Close collaboration with colleagues across the global business for delivery of KPIs related to the portfolio
- Working closely with Senior Journals Manager to develop and implement a strategy for a competitive portfolio
YOUR PROFILE
- Scientific, or medical background or a comparable degree, preferably a Master or Diploma
- Previous experience managing a portfolio of (ideally interdisciplinary) journal titles
- Networking and effective collaboration with scientists worldwide
- Innovative and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to question existing assumptions and practices and actively seek solutions
- Thorough understanding of editors’ and authors’ needs in their publishing activities, including open access
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- German language fluency preferred, but not required
