Manager Commercial Analytics (f/m/d)
Berlin | Full time | As soon as possible
We are looking for a Business Intelligence Specialist to strengthen our Commercial team and build the data foundation that supports informed sales and customer decisions. In this role, you will turn complex sales, market, usage, and customer data into reliable dashboards, reports, and actionable insights using Power BI and Excel. Working closely with Tech, Sales, and Sales Operations teams worldwide, you will ensure that commercial teams have accurate, accessible, and sales-ready data. This is a great opportunity for someone who combines strong technical BI skills with a structured, business oriented approach to data.
This is a fixed-term contract for two years.
Your tasks
- Build and maintain the commercial data foundation by consolidating,
integrating, standardizing, and modelling data from multiple sources in close collaboration with the Tech department - Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and Excel solutions that
transform raw sales, market, customer, and usage data into clear, actionable business intelligence - Translate business requirements into reliable BI solutions, working closely with Commercial, Sales, and Sales
- Operations to deliver effective dashboards, reports, and data tools
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity by identifying discrepancies,
data gaps, and inconsistencies and implementing scalable solutions to improve data reliability - Act as the in-house data expert for usage data, COUNTER statistics,
holdings, denials, and authorship reporting, supporting colleagues with data-related questions and requirements - Support global users and stakeholders by documenting BI solutions,
communicating data availability and functionality, and providing training where required. The role does not include responsibility for revenue-
related or order reporting.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Informatics, Library & Information Science, Business Administration with a clear BI focus, or a comparable field, ideally combined with 3+ years of relevant
professional experience - Strong expertise in Microsoft Power BI, including data modelling, dashboard development, and BI best practices
- Advanced Excel skills, including PowerPivot, data modelling, automation, and working with complex datasets
- Proven ability to integrate, consolidate, standardize, and validate data from
multiple sources, with strong technical troubleshooting skills - Structured, detail-oriented, and solution-focused, with the ability to translate business requirements from non-technical stakeholders into reliable, scalable BI solutions
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with fluency in English; German and knowledge of scholarly publishing data standards such as COUNTER are a plus
